There are lots of retail amplifier simulators on the market. Some of them offer dozens of amp sims from many brands, some others offer only one type of amplifier, created from scratch and not based on existing gear. The most complete simulators include stomp boxes (distorsion, overdrive, fuzz, wah, etc.) and effects (echo, delay, reverb, etc.), noise gates, tuners. All of them include cabinet simulators, so they are very thorough and usable out of the box. Some may even be used as stand-alone software and thus don't require to be inserted as plugins in a D.A.W.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of brands that offer amp simulations. These are only software amp simulations, to be used in a D.A.W. as plugins, or as stand-alone applications in your computer. I have excluded software that are too old, not sold anymore, and I keep only those that are available in a 64-bit version.
